Vertical Assets aims to bring owners and managers of wireless transmission sites together with wireless Internet service providers in order to facilitate the integration of broadband and information technology into state and local economies.
The website does not contain a comprehensive inventory of all structures in the state. However, the project is unique in that it makes available a database of both traditional sites, and non-traditional sites (e.g. silos, tall buildings, etc.).
Wireless communications equipment can be placed in a wide variety of locations, but ideally, wireless providers look for locations or structures in stable condition, with reasonably easy access to electricity and wired telecommunications, and with a significant height relative to the surrounding area.
To search our database of vertical assets for a site in your area, click the magnifying glass to the side of the screen, or scroll down to access the inventory tool. Use the search bar to find assets, or use the advanced search button to view filter options by category. Use both the map view and list view to make the most of your search.
The database is populated with public data from the Federal Communications Commission antenna structure registry, as well as locally-sourced data contributed by localities, property owners, local WISPs, etc.

The Center for Geospatial Information Technology also offers individual tools within our Broadband Planning and Analysis Toolbox as well as an Integrated Toolbox for acquiring mapbooks and policy reports.
The Office of Telework Promotion and Broadband Assistance also offers a Broadband Toolkit that acts as a 5-step guide to bring broadband to your area, with links to other resources for each step of the way.
The Center for Innovative Technology has a Broadband service-line that helps identify gaps in broadband service, provide funding options for new infrastructure, and document the methods used to address broadband awareness and utilization.
